SLA Spring Road Clean Up!
JOIN US Saturday, May 4th at 9:30am
As I write this, it’s 64 degrees, and Siseebakwet Lake is more dark green ice than white snow cover. We usually have the spring SLA Road Clean on the fourth Saturday of April, but since so much plowed snow and ice accumulated on the shoulders of our neighborhood roads; we delayed this year’s spring road cleanup until Saturday, May 4. Like last year, it's short notice because it took quite a few days in the 50’s and low 60’s to get the point where we felt confident to decide on the date. Please mark your calendars. As always, we’ll gather for the kickoff at 9:30am at the Sugar Town Hall—coffee and a tasty treat.
For those of you early birds who want to claim favorite stretches of the road, feel free to drop us an email at firstname.lastname@example.org and we’ll mark you down. Hopefully, the grass will have greened up and begun growing on the shoulders by then, so if you feel inclined to pick up what you see now, while you’re walking around the lake, please do—it’s always a good day to keep Minnesota beautiful.
